Painting Project

Oh my gosh...The painting project was a nightmare. Not only is our ceiling high but there are a lot of arches to paint around. I think I am finally done. There may still be some touch ups here and there but for the most part it is done!! YEAH! Notice the smoke detector....I tried my hardest to cut in around it and think I got it good. I got a little paint on it too but hey...what do you expect when you are on the floor using a 20 foot pole?!

Soccer issues

We signed Skyler up for soccer through FFPS and the wonderful dad he is, Schuyler signed up to be a coach. The next night he gets a call from the director of FFPS stating that they need a division 10 district coordinator. So....Schuyler is now the district coordinator for the 5 yr olds in the Woodlands. He has spent the entire weekend calling parents trying to recruit coaches. There aren't many parents willing to volunteer their time and he is a little stressed since games are to start on the 6th!! On top of this he has some good moves going on at work but as any new duties comes a little anxiety. So please keep him in your thoughts.

Crafty Weekend

Well, this weekend Lynn (my mother-n-law) and I went to get the fabric and whatnot's to make the girls Halloween costumes. They are both going to be pretty witches, not scary ones. I hope the costumes turn out as cute as I am expecting. We partially dressed the girls to measure them for the rest of the costumes and I had to take a few pics.

While at Hobby Lobby I saw a cute idea for blankets and I purchased the fleece to make them. I made two of them this weekend. One with a pink back for Skyler and another with a blue back for Madison. There was no sewing involved and didn't take any real talent. I think they turned out really cute. Here is a pic of the pink one and one of the girls watching TV using both of them Sunday morning.

Famous "Redneck"

Not many people know that we ride 4-wheelers a lot and LOVE to go mudding. So many people make fun of us and call us rednecks because of it but we really enjoy it. We go with a large group of people who all enjoy the same thing and it is also very family oriented. (most of the time) There is an event called mud nationals that we went 2 years and there have been some 8000 people at these 4-5 day events. Both years I entered the "Mud Chick" Race and did pretty well. The last year I got 2nd place and that was 8 weeks after giving birth to Madison. Today I decided to search my name on Google and found this link. I was excited to see my name and also there is a picture of me racing...the 9th set of pics down there are 4 girls in a mud bog race and I am the one on the right. Click on the pics to make them bigger. (it is hard to tell it is me, but it is) So I guess this makes me a famous "red neck". :o)

The same year my dad and Schuyler entered a buddy race together and did pretty good. I was stuck in the camper with Madison so I was not able to watch or take pictures but from what I heard they had a blast. We hope to get to go back next year.

Having fun in the back yard

Here are the girls a little messy but enjoying themselves in the back yard.

Painting Adventure

Schuyler and I started on painting the living room and entry this last weekend and it is a nightmare. I love the color but the walls are so high that it is very hard to reach the top. We still do not know how we are going to cut in around the smoke detector that is like 20ft up. Here are some pics from the beginning stages of painting. I will post the final pics when we are done. If we ever finish this monster of a painting project.

Madison's 19 mo. check up

We took Madison for a 19 mo. check up and she is doing good. About 20% on weight at 21 lbs and 80% on height. So she is tall and lean. She is so sweet but stubborn at the same time. Just like her daddy.

Here are some funny things she is saying that only daddy and I understand...
"kiky" Kitty
"choo choo" Train
"kyer" Skyler
"ou si" Outside
"tatoo" Tractor or a really loud truck that sounds like a tractor
"cu" Cup
"meemee" Binky
"tt" TV
There are a lot of others but we pretty much know what she wants when she points and says "uh uh" I would say that the funniest things she does is when she toots and turns around like "who did that or where did that come from" It is so funny because she looks completely confused.

1st day of Kindergarten

Well, today was the big day! My baby, Skyler started kindergarten. I can't believe she is so big. It seems like yesterday she was starting to talk. She sure has changed in the past 5 years. Here are some pictures of the last 5 years. Just for the record, I have only cried 4 times in the past couple of days!

The House

Here is a recent picture of the house. We hope to be fully unpacked soon.

Meet the teacher

We had meet the teacher at Skyler's new school and it went well. Her teachers name is Mrs. Law and she seems real sweet. The class room was so cute. Here are some pics we took before meet the teacher and one during.

I will be taking the first day of school pics tomorrow and post them ASAP.

Kindergarten and New House

Skyler will be starting Kindergarten next week and I am a nervous wreck. I never thought I would be one of these parents but here I am, stressing over it. I know she will be fine and do wonderful but I worry about how safe and secure schools are, if she will make new friends easy, if her class mates are going to be nice to her, if they are going to be good or bad influences on her, and most of all I want her to enjoy school while learning.

As for the house, it is coming a long. We have been in for about 3 weeks and this past weekend we got to stay home and get a lot done on the house. We missed the retirement party for Schuyler's Uncle because we had to wait on the Internet and satellite guys but we were able to get a lot accomplished. There still is so much to do and buy but it is coming along well. I will post some pics soon and we plan on having a get together once we get everything unpacked and put in its place.

Skyler's 5th birthday

Skyler's 5th birthday went great. We had it at Yogi Bear's Jelly Stone Park. It was a little hot but it made for a great time at the park park portion. Skyler is so happy to be 5, becuase she now gets to go to the "big kid school". She got clothes, toys and a back pack for school. She loves her "big kid" back pack so much that she wears it almost everynight.

Summer? What Summer?

It has rained almost this entire summer. I feel as if there hasn't been a summer at all. I hate that the girls have not really been able to enjoy the outdoors very much and now Skyler is about to start kindergarten. Can you believe that? She will be 5 in August. Oh, yea! 5!!! And trust me she is soooo excited about her b-day party and starting school. How funny is this....she wants school supplies for her birthday. We are going to have her party at Yogi Bear Jelly Stone Park in Waller, TX. There are so many things that kids can do there but it is ALL OUTDOORS, so the rain better stop!
Madison is growing by the day. Her and Skyler are "best friends"...well until Skyler tries to keep her from doing something that she is not supposed to do or picks her up to take her some where. Madison is VERY independent and doesn't like Skyler stepping in her way.
The girls are so different and special in their own way. Skyler, has become such a beautiful, sweet, and good little girl who has always had fear of things. Madison is getting so big and turning into such an affectionate baby who has never known the word fear. She would jump off the roof and never think twice. The ironic thing is that Madison has never really hurt herself and Skyler has broken 3 bones, 2 teath almost busted out and has had 3 surgeries even though she is so careful. Oh, and yes we have 2 baby gates ordered for the stairs in the new house. That was the first thing I thought of since we have one MAJOR accident prone daughter and one that isn't scared of a thing and would probably see falling down the stairs as fun...well until she got really hurt. I don't want to take the chance, no more ER visits for me please!!!
As for the house. The walk through went well and we are scheduled to close and move in on Monday the July 30th. We plan on having a get together once we get in and settled. We will let everyone know and hope ya'll can make it.

House Update

Here is a pic of the house from today. There seems to be a lot that still needs to be done but they are optimistic that it will be done soon. We are doing the first walk through this Wednesday the 25th and if all goes well close the end of the month. We are very hopeful!

Here is Madison being silly...

Astros Game

We took a trip to see the Astros. Schuyler and I enjoyed what little game we got to watch since neither one of the girls cared to sit in one spot very long. We ended up heading to the kiddie area to let them blow off steam. By then we were hot and ready to go but it was nice being able to take them to a game. This was Madison's 1st trip.

House update:

We have our first walk through set for this coming Tuesday 7/25 and we HOPE to close on Monday the 30th. We will see since there still seems to be SOOO much to be done. We are VERY ready. I will post some pics of the house tomoorow.
