Quick Update

Both girls had doctor appointments today and I wanted to give an update.

We have noticed Skyler not listening to us when we talk to her then finally she started saying she was not, not listening, she can't hear very well. We cleaned her ears out and watched her a few days and it seemed to get worse. But today at the doctor we were told her hearing is fine and that what is going on is that she has "negative pressure" in her ears due to fluid from a cold and that it will get better in a few days or so.

Madison had an appointment with an ear nose and throat specialist today because she snores and doesn't sleep well anymore. The ENT said her tonsils HAVE to come out. They are WAY to big. So my baby will have surgery soon! :o( Poor her.

Christmas 2008 and a "first"

Merry Christmas! This year our Christmas was wonderful and a lot of fun. It must be the age of my girls, but they were both so very excited and happy. I LOVED seeing them so happy. We had Christmas Eve dinner at our house with a few friends and family and my mother-n-law stayed the night with us. (we hope that becomes a tradition) We stayed up late talking and even though it was so nice to just sit and talk we knew we had to get to bed so that Santa could come.
-
Christmas morning Skyler and Madison ran room to room waking us all up letting us know that Santa had been there and that there are "a million presents under the tree"! We all opened presents and played with EVERYTHING....on a side note, I have a bone to pick with the toy packagers, why does it take 10 tools and some brute strength to open and remove toys??? Seriously??? Another side note....why is it that seeing your children get more than they wish for and be extremely happy make a mom cry???
-
After destroying the house with toys, boxes and wrapping paper we went to my mom's for more gifts, food and family! We also, had a 1st happen Christmas morning. You will have to look at pictures to see what it was. What a wonderful Christmas we had! I love my family and I'm so grateful for all of the blessings in my life!

My girls and my brother's twins in matching Christmas PJ's

My Tree a bit small but very charming...at least that is what I think! :o)

My Christmas socks...can you believe I wore these to work for our Christmas party with Capri's??? I felt very silly but had a blast!!! Not to mention I got a lot of laughs and compliments. It was fun.

Our neighbors who we have gotten pretty close to got each of the girls new bikes with their very own personalized license plates!
Christmas morning...before the sun came up!

Here is a picture of the livingroom with the mess...after picking up a lot of it.

The "first" that happen Christmas morning was...Skyler lost her 1st tooth!!! The tooth had been loose and I would't let anyone mess with it...I wanted to make it past Christmas for pictures. Ironically she looses it Christmas morning! I guess she forgot about the loose tooth and decided to try to open a package with her teeth and this is the end result. This picture is a bit gross...sorry!

Then we were all back to playing

This is the face of a little girl who got the ONLY thing she REALLY wanted for Christmas...a Nintendo DS from my mom. (in pink of course)

Christmas day at my mom's. We love going to her house Christmas day for wonderful food and spending time with family.

My mom and dad
(Madison decided she was going to be in the picture too)

I tried to get a good picture of Madison and could not post just one since I thought they were all cute. :o)

"Oh look a bird"...no seriously...that is what happen....she was smiling and saw a bird and this is the picture I got. Funny one, huh?

I think this was the "no more pictures, mommy" face.

To all that sent us Christmas cards and pictures thank you!

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!

Whirlwind Weekend

We had a whirlwind weekend. We had a large family get-together at my mother-n-law's house Saturday. Which I might add went very well. Thank you Lynn for all of the wonderful food and for somehow finding table seating for so many of us. It was nice to see the whole family and to see each of the children. They grow up so fast. Then church Sunday, shopping and a short but nice trip to my mom's to eat and visit with Tracy, David, Zach and Kaylie who came in from Florida. I wish we could have spent more time but with that being the last day that I could shop I had to take advantage of it. I am sorry that we were not able to stay longer mom but thanks for watching the girls for us for a few hours so that we could shop.

'Twas 5 days before Christmas...

'Twas 5 days before Christmas, when all through the house not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse; The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there; The children were nestled all snug in their beds,While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.

Only 5 more days until Christmas and I can surely feel the excitement in my house. As I was tucking Madison in bed she whispered in my ear...."Chrimas Sanna is comin" (Christmas Santa is coming) So sweet. I hope my children enjoy Christmas as much as I did growing up.

This and That

While in Mississippi we went to the local park that was close to a high school. As we were walking on the road next to the park Madison stopped and said "mommy...a CLUE!!!" Me not knowing what on earth she was talking about said "what, baby"? Then she ran over to the middle of the road and pointed at the local high school's paw print on the road and said "A CLUE" I finally realized....OH....BLUES CLUES! We all had a good laugh!

Yesterday I witnessed something cute, strange, and a little disturbing all at the same time....
I was dropping off Skyler at school and a little boy got out of a suburban 2 cars ahead of us and Skyler got all excited saying "that's Jeremy, hi Jeremy, Jeremy wait" I told her that he could not hear her from inside the car. We moved up in the car line as the little boy turned to wave to his mom who was driving off and he noticed Skyler waving hysterically from our car. So he waited for us to pull up, walked over to the car opened the door for her and said "good morning Skyler" she said "hi Jeremy" then turned to me and said "bye mommy I love you" he shut the door for her and then put his arm over her shoulder and they walked side by side with his arm over her shoulder all the way to the door....now I am just watching kinda stunned while all the cars behind me I am sure were getting a little anxious for me to move. Then I watched him take his arm off and open the door letting her go in the school first. So I finally snapped and drove off! All I could think was that that was strange. Almost like little grown ups....and she is only 6!!! It was very gentlemanly of the little boy to do and I am sure he has been taught that by his parents but still they are only 6!!!! Schuyler said he wants to get his number and talk to him and his parents and see what his intentions are! He was joking but I am still a little...(lack of better words) freaked out by it.

Eventful Week

This week it snowed...yes I said snowed in Houston! Since we don't see snow very often in the Houston area we all acted like children running outside to check it out. I wanted to let the girls play in it but Skyler had strep-throat and Madison was sick as well. Also, I am "the bed time Nazi" and am very adamant about the girls going to bed on time. I did take a few pictures of our picnic table before I went to bed.

On Sunday Schuyler and I got to go to the Texans Game. It was the Texans vs. the Titans it was a GOOD game. The Texans beat the Titans in a very close game. We had some AWESOME seats. We were right on the field and by the cheerleaders. Poor Schuyler was forced to watch them! HA! Right....he enjoyed every minute of it. I took pictures of the game and the players and he took pictures of the cheerleaders. :o) Below are some pics that I took... they really show how close we were.

Polar Express 2008

The girls and I decorated the tree and house and we took some pics.

We took our annual trip to the Polar Express in Palestine TX and had a great time. The girls each got to bring a friend and having 4 little girls wasn't as bad as we thought it was going to be. :o) They were all pretty well behaved and seemed to have a great time. I will let the pictures do the talking.

Us girls in the hotel room. We were all in pink and me matching was totally not planned or even noticed until looking at the pictures from home.
Madison, 2 1/2, Savanna 2 1/2, Skyler 6, Allyson 9, an me....the day after my 30th birthday...30???...getting OLD!!! :o(
